Making calorie estimates easier to understand

Calorie Deficit Calculator is an independently operated website that provides a calorie deficit calculator and educational information about energy needs and weight-management calculations.

Our aim is to make these calculations easier to understand without overwhelming visitors with unnecessary options.

What our calculator provides

For supported adult inputs, the calculator estimates:

  • Daily calorie targets.
  • Resting energy needs, commonly described as BMR.
  • Total daily energy expenditure, or TDEE.
  • The size of a selected calorie deficit.
  • An illustrative weight-loss timeline when an appropriate goal is entered.

Adult calculations use the Mifflin–St Jeor equation with an activity adjustment. These are estimates, not measurements of an individual’s metabolism.

For ages 15–17, the tool provides basic measurements only. It does not generate adult calorie-deficit targets for teenagers.

An independent website

Calorie Deficit Calculator is operated by Elise Ava. I have spent several years working with calorie needs, energy balance, and practical weight-loss planning. Elise built this calculator to give people clear, evidence-based estimates they can use to plan a manageable calorie deficit.

How the website is supported

Accuracy and feedback

We aim to explain our methods clearly and correct errors when they are identified. Nevertheless, generic formulas cannot capture every person’s health circumstances or energy requirements.
